Court House was built in the seventeenth century, of local, Horton stone. It is a sanctuary within the quiet idyl of Sibford Gower (8.7 miles from Chipping Norton), set within an acre of walled gardens.
There is a croquet lawn, vegetable garden, orchard, woodland and terrace, all of which guests are free to explore. In summer, hammocks are found in the orchard for a shaded place to relax, and there is outdoor furniture on the terrace for al fresco dining.
The free-range eggs served at breakfast come from our resident flock of ex-battery hens, who savour their semi-retirement with days spent roaming the garden, carefully coralled by our border collie, Blue.
Where possible, all other breakfast offerings are homemade or locally produced. We are especially proud of our homemade artisan bread and marmalade.
Of course, no Court House would be complete without a Court Room, which is now a large lounge area for the exclusive use of our Bed and Breakfast guests.
The vaulted ceilings have been extensively restored, during which we found some of the original thatched roofing, tucked between the beams.
There is a television, baby grand piano and selection of books and DVDs. There is WiFi throughout the property.
There are two beautiful bedrooms currently availabe, each immaculately decorated and furnished please see our website for further information.
Prices per night fully inclusive of breakfast :- £85.00 and £150.00 for two nights

12 unique luxury properties sleeping
2 - 10
Located in the picturesque hamlet of Bruern in the Cotswolds, Bruern Cottages offers the luxury and comfort you would expect from a 5 star hotel, with the space and personalised touches you can only find in a bespoke self-catering property.
Built in Victorian times, the twelve luxury cottages were converted from Stables by Judy Astor, the owner, in the early 1990s and have been developed and refurbished over time. Offering a mix of home comfort, attention to detail and quintessentially English decoration they have won many awards including 5-star recognition and the English Excellence award.
An hour and a half train ride from London’s Paddington and a short hop up the M40 from the city, Bruern is ideally located to visit the Cotswolds and cities like Oxford, Cheltenham, Burford, Cirencester or Bath.
Our visitors sometimes tell us that they do not need to get in the car and drive all the way to Hidcote, Barnsley House, Broughton Castle or Kiftsgate, to name just a few of the wonderful gardens within one hours drive from Bruern.
We are as passionate about the gardens here at Bruern Cottages as we are about the cottages. Historically we have planted thousands of bulbs as part of our continuing programme, so that each spring is more glorious than the last.
In summer, on a hot afternoon, it is a paradise; strolling through the Stable Yard, the symmetry, mellow stone, gravel paths and striped green croquet lawn, softened by festoons of roses and clematis, lilies and euphorbias spilling out of the borders. They combine to give you the illusion that you have been transplanted into the quad of some Oxford college.
Our Twelve luxury cottages share an indoor heated pool, only a few minutes walk from their private gardens. With a glass ceiling and windows opening onto a beautiful garden with sun loungers, the swimming-pool is a very relaxing place for both adults and children. We also have a fully equipped gym with treadmill, bike and power plate.
Please see our website for comprehensive details and prices.
