A PRIVATE HOUSE HOTEL
What is Foxhill Manor?
Simply put, Foxhill is a private manor-house hotel in the Cotswolds (2.9 miles from Chipping Campden), with eight unique bedrooms and suites. But that doesn’t quite do it justice. A Grade-II listed Arts and Crafts country home refreshed and revitalised for the 21st century, Foxhill Manor is a new type of stay: all the character and charm of a boutique-hotel hideaway, served up with heartfelt personal service and an easygoing at-home atmosphere. Trust us, you’ll love it.
Where is Foxhill Manor?
Our manor is set within its own little grounds on the 400-acre woodland estate of Farncombe, in the Cotswolds, a lazy stroll from the pretty village of Broadway and a couple of minutes’ drive from our big-sister hotel, Dormy House. We’re about an hour and a half out of London by car.
What’s included in the room rate?
Almost everything. As well as your room, the rate covers a full breakfast, snacks and drinks throughout the day, and all sorts of other little surprises. It also includes a shuttle service to and from Dormy House or Broadway village, as well as the dedicated attention of your personal host who is on hand at the front desk 24 hours a day and daily housekeeping and turn-down service. The only things you need to pay extra for are lunch, dinner or any bottles you happen to pluck from the Foxhill wine cellar.
Also included in the rate for Foxhill Manor guests is the option to whizz up the hill to Dormy House to use the House Spa (treatments are extra) – we’ll take you up and back, so no need to worry about avoiding a glass or two in the Champagne nail bar if it takes your fancy.
Hotel stays are available Tuesday to Saturday. Exclusive use is available 7-days a week.
Is dinner available?
Of course! Our chef will creates a four-course menu every-day from local farmed and foraged fair. However, you can go ‘off-piste’ and ask Chef to whip up anything you particularly like. (Our motto at Foxhill is: ‘whatever you fancy, wherever you fancy it’.) You can eat in our cosy restaurant, in your room or suite, or pop up to sister hotel Dormy House for a meal at either of the restaurants there.

....a beautiful country house set within stunning grounds
Originally conceived in the 14th century as a medieval manor, Dauntsey Manor was extensively remodelled in the 18th century into the beautifully proportioned house, with the elegant Georgian elevations, that you see today. Dauntsey Park House is well situated between the historic city of Bath and Cirencester and within easy reach of the pretty Cotswold towns of Tetbury and Malmesbury.
Giovanni and Emma moved into the house with their four children Cosimo, Alberto, Francesco and Cecilia in 2007. Having been sold five times since 1987, major renovations were needed to make the house suitable for a young family and to create rooms for guests and functions. Lengthy and extensive works to the house itself were finally completed in 2010, as was the installation of a water turbine to make the house carbon neutral. Further plans for winter 2011/2012 include the creation of a knot garden outside the church entrance.
There are two stylish and spacious bedrooms available for bed and breakfast use. As both rooms are west-facing with two windows each, they are filled with evening light and have striking views out over the river and park beyond.
The large double room has an ensuite bathroom with separate shower and a super king-size Italian bed complete with Egyptian cotton sheets. There is also a comfortable sofa to relax on.
The elegant twin bedroom, with generously sized single beds, is also ensuite. The bathroom has a traditional roll top bath and boasts an original thunder box loo! Both rooms have wifi and their own TV. For larger parties, further bedrooms are available.
At Dauntsey, generous continental breakfasts are served during the week in school term times, whilst cooked breakfasts are on offer at weekends and over the school holidays. All our ingredients are sourced locally where possible, including ‘Malmesbury King’ champion sausages and bacon from Malmesbury’s award winning butcher, Thomas of Malmesbury. Breakfast is served in the dining room and in the summer months guests are also given access to the drawing room.
We are delighted to be part of Alastair Sawday's Special Places.
“.... Initially, I thought I’d arrived at the wrong address, access through a large stone arch up a gravel drive leads to a very grand country house. To refer to this as a B&B massively undersells it, this is a B&B like no other; a beautiful country house set within stunning grounds in the heart of the Cotswolds. The rooms are huge and wonderfully dressed, utilising the multitude of period features. From the warm welcome by Emma on our arrival, to the comfortable bed and amazing breakfast the following day, everything about our stay was perfect. I would definitely stay again and anyone looking to stay in this part of the country need look no further than Dauntsey Park House; this is a wonderful country retreat that won’t disappoint.”

Home away from home in the Cotswolds
12 unique luxury properties sleeping 2 - 10
Located in the picturesque hamlet of Bruern (near Burford, Chipping Norton & Stow-on-the-Wold)) in the Cotswolds. Bruern Cottages offers the luxury and comfort you would expect from a 5 star hotel, with the space and personalised touches you can only find in a bespoke self-catering property.
Built in Victorian times, the twelve luxury cottages were converted from Stables by Judy Astor, the owner, in the early 1990s and have been developed and refurbished over time. Offering a mix of home comfort, attention to detail and quintessentially English decoration they have won many awards including 5-star recognition and the English Excellence award.
An hour and a half train ride from London’s Paddington and a short hop up the M40 from the city, Bruern is ideally located to visit the Cotswolds and cities like Oxford, Cheltenham, Burford, Cirencester or Bath.
Our visitors sometimes tell us that they do not need to get in the car and drive all the way to Hidcote, Barnsley House, Broughton Castle or Kiftsgate, to name just a few of the wonderful gardens within one hours drive from Bruern.
We are as passionate about the gardens here at Bruern Cottages as we are about the cottages. Historically we have planted thousands of bulbs as part of our continuing programme, so that each spring is more glorious than the last.
In summer, on a hot afternoon, it is a paradise; strolling through the Stable Yard, the symmetry, mellow stone, gravel paths and striped green croquet lawn, softened by festoons of roses and clematis, lilies and euphorbias spilling out of the borders. They combine to give you the illusion that you have been transplanted into the quad of some Oxford college.
Our Twelve luxury cottages share an indoor heated pool, only a few minutes walk from their private gardens. With a glass ceiling and windows opening onto a beautiful garden with sun loungers, the swimming-pool is a very relaxing place for both adults and children. We also have a fully equipped gym with treadmill, bike and power plate.
