We Look Forward to Welcoming You to unique Abbots Grange
Nestled in the lea of Broadway hill this historically important, medieval monastic manor house stands in over eight acres of grounds at the centre of Broadway - one of the most beautiful villages in the Cotswolds.
Many well known characters have spent time at this Grade II* listed building drawing inspiration from its stunning architecture and location including Oscar Wilde, Claude Monet, Edwin Abbey, John Singer-Sargent, William Morris and Edward Elgar. Built in c1320, the house is fully centrally heated and each en-suite bedroom provides the latest modern amenities. All rooms include as standard Queen size four poster or twin beds, flat screen TV, DVD player, bottled spring water, tea/coffee making facilities, cotton sheets, bath robes, hair dryer and toiletries.
Abbots Grange is believed to be the oldest dwelling in Broadway and one of the oldest domestic/monastic properties in Worcestershire, built during the early part of the 14th Century as the summer manor for the Abbot of Pershore.
It is considered by the Institute of Archaeology to be one of the most important and best preserved English monastic manor houses with a rich and fascinating history. The house is catalogued and the architecture described in Pevsners ‘The Buildings of England’.
