There are 59 racecourses spread throughout Britain and meetings are held throughout the year including many Sundays and evenings.
There are two types of racing, Flat racing, prominent in the summer, and Jump racing which is popular in the winter. Flat racing takes place on a flat track on either turf (March to November)
or an all-weather surface. Jump racing is run on turf over obstacles known either as steeplechase fences or hurdles.

Cheltenham horse racing is a great day out for all. There are three enclosures to choose from and from wherever you are
guaranteed stunning views of all the racing.
Set in the middle of picturesque Wiltshire countryside, within view of stunning Salisbury Cathedral, the Racecourse hosts 16 thoroughbred
flat race meetings in 2008, plus a raceday for Arabian horses.
Lying just a few hundred yards from Warwick Castle, Warwick Racecourse retains its historic
charm and character. The racecourse is one of the oldest in the country, with racing having taken place here since the 1740's, this is a course rich in tradition and heritage.
