Hidden in the Windrush Valley is the idyllic village of Swinbrook which appears not to have changed for centuries. Enchantingly lost in time. The Swan Inn is 3 miles from Burford.
Our menu is seasonal with an emphasis on fresh, organic and local ingredients.
We source game from local estates and our fish is delivered daily from Cornwall. The vegetables are grown locally in the Vale of Evesham and the cheeses are all British. The beef (Aberdeen Angus) is supplied by Archie's uncle who farms nearby.
Our aim is to provide delicious well cooked food using quality local ingredients. So whether it is a heart-warming stew in winter, fresh mussels in summer, Sunday roast or beetroot risotto with coriander pesto for vegetarians, we hope to provide something for everyone.
This year we were awarded the County Dining Pub of the Year 2009 by The Good Pub Guide which we are thrilled about.

The Swan Inn,
Swinbrook, Near Burford,
Oxon, OX18 4DY
The Swan is a beautifully kept early 17th century Cotswold inn on the village green at Southrop, in that corner of Gloucestershire which nestles into Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.
The Swan's interior is light and airy in summer, whereas these inns are often gloomy, and yet in the colder winter months, with its log fires burning, you couldn't wish to find a cosier place to enjoy fine food.
Sebastian and Lana Snow re-launched The Swan on Monday 1st of September. A protege of Anthony Worrel-Thompson, Sebastian and Lana have been running their acclaimed West London Restaurant "Snows on the Green" voted by Tatler in the top 100 restaurants in the UK since the early nineties.
As well as running 4 London restaurants Sebastian has been a regular newspaper columnist and been running a cookery school in Orvieto, Italy for many years as well as raising a lot of money for charities walking across the Sahra and bicycling across Death valley recently!
Having decided to sell up and move out of London, Sebastian with his wife Lana will be relocating his young family down to Southrop where they will be running The Swan full time with a new dynamic team, Sebastian cooking his "turf to table food" with Lana looking after everyone's needs on the boards. They very much hope you will give them a try and look forward to exciting times ahead for The Swan.
They will being doing a restaurant à la carte menu, set menus a simpler bar menu and never forgetting a weekend roast.
For table bookings, please telephone: 01367 850205. Open for lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday, and Sunday lunch. Please telephone for exact hours.

The Highway’s interior is now light and airy in summer with fabulous large Bay windows looking out to Burford High street and whereas these inns are often gloomy, in the colder winter months, log fires are burning. You couldn't wish to find a cosier place to enjoy the finest food in the Cotswolds.
Alfresco Dinning is a must in summer, where you can either watch the world go by on the High St or Dine in our secluded courtyard garden with the birds twittering.
The food is provided by our Head Chef Steve McCartney, previously Head Chef to Gee's in Oxford. Also having worked in other highly acclaimed establishments at Michelin and Rosette level, Steve is rightly considered one of the rising stars of the restaurant business. The food is of the very highest quality, and yet the prices are still in line with those of a Country inn.
