The Swan is a beautifully kept early 17th century Cotswold inn on the village green at Southrop, in that corner of Gloucestershire which nestles into Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.
The inn has recently changed hands, and is now run by one of England's best known hosts: Graham Williams of London's Bibendum fame.
The chef, Bob Parkinson, is also ex-Bibendum and is rightly considered one of the rising stars of the restaurant business.
The food is of the very highest quality as you'd expect from these two,
and yet the prices are still in line with those of a village inn.
The Swan's interior is light and airy in summer, whereas these inns are often gloomy,
and yet in the colder winter months, with its log fires burning,
you couldn't wish to find a cosier place to enjoy the finest food in the Cotswolds.
