Furniture
Most of our furniture is tailor-made. This means that you, the client, can choose your dimensions, and we, the designers, will fine-tune the piece to suit its intended environment. We'll normally choose the bits of wood ourselves - we have plenty of sources - but if you have any piece of wood which you want turning into something interesting, original and also functional, then we can do that too.
In terms of the construction process, we use only salvaged wood, which makes it as organic and recycled as possible. We also try to keep away from nails or screws, though sometimes the piece might be so complicated or quirky that they become necessary.
Furnishings
Our furnishings include cushions made from vintage Indian embroidery, Hungarian linen sacks and old espadrille; lights made from oak off-cuts and other pieces of interesting wood; mirrors which have been restored and upholstered in fabric; and textile art made with more antique fabric, and then framed using re-cycled gunpowder vat panels.
The design process of these pieces is based on the material, shape, size and their source. The roots and the history of the pieces play a large part in what they eventually become.
