Home away from home in the Cotswolds
12 unique luxury properties sleeping 2 - 10
Located in the picturesque hamlet of Bruern (near Burford, Chipping Norton & Stow-on-the-Wold)) in the Cotswolds. Bruern Cottages offers the luxury and comfort you would expect from a 5 star hotel, with the space and personalised touches you can only find in a bespoke self-catering property.
Built in Victorian times, the twelve luxury cottages were converted from Stables by Judy Astor, the owner, in the early 1990s and have been developed and refurbished over time. Offering a mix of home comfort, attention to detail and quintessentially English decoration they have won many awards including 5-star recognition and the English Excellence award.
An hour and a half train ride from London’s Paddington and a short hop up the M40 from the city, Bruern is ideally located to visit the Cotswolds and cities like Oxford, Cheltenham, Burford, Cirencester or Bath.
Our visitors sometimes tell us that they do not need to get in the car and drive all the way to Hidcote, Barnsley House, Broughton Castle or Kiftsgate, to name just a few of the wonderful gardens within one hours drive from Bruern.
We are as passionate about the gardens here at Bruern Cottages as we are about the cottages. Historically we have planted thousands of bulbs as part of our continuing programme, so that each spring is more glorious than the last.
In summer, on a hot afternoon, it is a paradise; strolling through the Stable Yard, the symmetry, mellow stone, gravel paths and striped green croquet lawn, softened by festoons of roses and clematis, lilies and euphorbias spilling out of the borders. They combine to give you the illusion that you have been transplanted into the quad of some Oxford college.
Our Twelve luxury cottages share an indoor heated pool, only a few minutes walk from their private gardens. With a glass ceiling and windows opening onto a beautiful garden with sun loungers, the swimming-pool is a very relaxing place for both adults and children. We also have a fully equipped gym with treadmill, bike and power plate.
Some of the cottages are now dog friendly.
Please see our website for comprehensive details and prices.
