Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire at the northern edge of the Cotswolds is a delightful collection of ancient buildings and we recommend it to all tourists visiting the region as a place to visit.
Tewkesbury is an attractive, historic town dominated by timber-framed buildings with overhanging eaves and has a fascinating maze of small alleyways behind the main streets. It is situated on a spit of land just above flood level at the junction of two great rivers (the Severn and Avon) .
The town has always been a favoured resting place for travellers on the highway which winds it's way along the Severn Vale and has a selection of Hotels, Inns and Pubs, B&Bs and Holiday Cottages from which to choose your accommodation.

Recently refurbished and retaining many original features, it offers both comfort and convenience in an "olde worlde" setting. With outstanding, uninterrupted views over the Severn Ham to the Malvern Hills, this is the ideal place to relax and "chille oute".

Ground floor: (approx. 10'x18') Lounge with sofa/bed and kitchenette, including Art Nouveau range with open fire. Steep, curving stairs leading to ~
First floor: (approx. 9'x16') Double bedroom with half-bath and door leading to toilet with hand basin.
A Brief History
Millbank is believed to date back to around 1500 and belonged, with the mill, to the monks of the Abbey. During the 1700's, it was used as a workhouse. More recently, no. 9 was home to "Old Mrs Gore" and her 9 children. Mrs Gore raised her family without the "luxury" of running water. Water was supplied from a pump, operated by a lady living in the pumphouse, situated directly in front of the row of cottages. The outhouse across the alleyway was originally the communal toilet!
This comfortable village B&B
is situated in between the very
popular towns of Upton upon Severn and Tewkesbury
The Old Plough B&B was formerly The Plough Inn, and traded
as a public house from the early 18th century up until 1997. The main building was
extended to join up with the old village post office in the early eighties. The last
five years have seen a total refurbishment of the buildings resulting in a large
family home, with separate guest accommodations.
Whether visiting the area for leisure or business you will find your stay at The Old Plough relaxing, informal and memorable. The owners - Sue and Haydn Lamb - look forward to welcoming you.
The Old Plough accommodates couples, singles and families. We are located in the quiet village of Longdon overlooking the church. We have parking for all our guests in our own grounds
