Lily Allen the popstar has just bought (September 2010) Old Overtown House in the hamlet of Overtown near the village of Cranham 3 miles from Painswick.
Old Overtown House occupies a beautiful position on the Cotswold Hills within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The house enjoys wonderful views over the unspoilt surrounding countryside and woodland.
Within about three miles is the picturesque Cotswold town of Painswick, known as the "Queen of the Cotswolds". The town includes a range of small shops, doctor's surgery and a selection of inns and restaurants.
Further shopping and services can be found in the adjacent market towns of Cirencester and Stroud, whilst the Spa Town of Cheltenham provides a more comprehensive range of shopping and leisure facilities and the well known literary, cricket and music festivals. There is also the famous Cheltenham Racecourse which plays host to the Gold Cup every year.
