Uplands House is a family home, built in the 19th
century of golden Hornton stone. We are a well established Wolsey Lodge and our visitors
are treated as house guests. We usually dine en famille and offer generous hospitality,
pretty bedrooms, excellent food and the finest wines.
We go to great lengths to make your visit a memorable one, and hope you will return
often. The house is set in a beautiful garden surrounded by the ancient parklands
of Uplands Farm and Upton House.
We are close to Stratford
upon Avon, Warwick and Banbury. At Uplands our guests may enjoy all the peace and tranquility of
the lovely Warwickshire countryside, while being close enough to explore the many
towns, delightful villages and umpteen places of interests in the Cotswolds. Upton
House with its wonderful collections of paintings and porcelain is just a stone's
throw away, the National Herb Centre is only two miles, and Shakespeare's Stratford
on Avon is but a short drive.

We are situated in picturesque rolling countryside in the heart of our working family farm near Swalcliffe, North Oxfordshire. We can offer a double room or a family suite for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Stourwell Barn is conveniently situated close to many lovely villages and towns. Chipping Norton ‘Gateway to the Cotswolds’ is 8 miles away and in the opposite direction is the market town of Banbury. We are also well located for Oxford, Stratford upon Avon, Royal Leamington Spa, Stow on the Wold, Burford and many other Cotswold towns.
Stourwell Barn is a stone built barn dated 1772. It was originally built by the landowner William of Wykham. The source of the River Stour is situated nearby. The barn has had a variety of uses over the years. Livestock, Hay store, workshop and in 2011 we converted it to our family home.
The B&B rooms are located on the ground floor in a quiet corner of the barn.
Why come and stay?
Well who wouldn’t want to stay in beautiful countryside? On your arrival you might be warmly greeted by our dogs, Bramble, Tilly & Poppy. Visit the chickens strutting around in the newly planted orchard, come and collect some eggs.
For families we can offer a grass paddock to play rugby or football in (we’re rugby all the way here!) that’s of course if the cattle aren’t mowing the grass. Don’t forget your Wellington boots!
