Transport and Travel in and to Bath Spa

The information presented on this page is a guide to getting to Bath and travelling within the city.

The city centre is divided into 3 zones - northern, central and southern - each with their own access points, which will allow all vehicles to access specific areas of the city centre, but prevent through traffic. Access to all parts of the city centre will be maintained at all times.

The central area of Bath, with most of its attractions, parks and shopping, is relatively compact and is fairly flat and easy to walk. A moderately fit person should be able to walk from the Railway Station at the south to the Royal Crescent at the north in less than twenty minutes.

As you can imagine this World Heritage City is a very popular tourist destination and traffic within the city especially during summer is congested. If you are travelling by car we recommend that you use the Park & Ride facilities if possible.
