Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery

The museum & art gallery is run by the City Council with no entrance fee. It holds designated museum status, granted by the government to protect outstanding museums. It is situated in Clifton, about 0.5 miles from the city centre.
The museum includes sections on natural history, local, national and international archaeology, and local industry. The art gallery contains works from all periods, including many by internationally famous artists, as well a collection of modern paintings of Bristol.
The building is of superb Edwardian Baroque architecture and has been designated by English Heritage as grade two listed.
It offers the visitor a superb display of artefacts of national importance.
Besides the permanent collection there is an ever changing temporary exhibition program.
The ground floor contains a fresh water aquarium, a small world 0-5year play area ,
Café plus gift shop.
The middle floor has Sea Dragons, Fossils ,wild life galleries and dinosaurs and diversely a very popular gypsy caravan.
On the top floor take the opportunity to visit the stunning galleries display of art , Old masters ,French school of painters, British art and modern .
